Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
American actor Pat Finn, who featured in iconic programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
