Netflix Selects Spot-On Performer for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season

The Secret Organization is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until season 3, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.

The streaming service revealed recently that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Mr. 2. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The performer, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role reinterpreted as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.

Escola joins a number of recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to the screen, including head Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.

Although the role is a important part of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest more adjustments to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the part. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
