Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
