Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
